Project Background
The goal of this case study was to understand the current problems within navigation apps and create future design solutions based on research and user feedback. As an outdoors and hiking enthusiast, I was able to use first-hand prior experience as well as further research when formulating this case study.

Design Principles
Immersion
Immersion is a crucial consideration when creating navigation or mapping-based applications. To ensure maximum immersion, it's essential to prioritize the most relevant and significant user interface elements while concealing or animating other elements out of view.
Design Patterns
When designing mobile applications, it's essential to incorporate appropriate design systems and patterns in the interface. Consistency in layouts and color themes can help users establish habitual usage and flow patterns, making it easier for them to remember and recall how to use the application.
Purpose and Function
Condensing information can provide a quick overview of the page's content, but it can also result in cramming too many user interface elements that don't serve their individual function well. To optimize the function of specific UI elements, it's important to expand and give them their own space or page.
Speed and Efficiency
User interfaces should be designed for efficient and seamless navigation, with some components requiring more elaboration than others. Finding the right balance between compactness and accessibility is crucial when designing navigation apps.
